Business Development Manager

Role:

EMI Advisors is seeking a cross-functional Business Development Manager to support the Executive Leadership Team with strategic planning initiatives, business development efforts, and market research. The Manager will work closely with EMI’s skilled Project Managers and subject matter experts to understand our market and service offerings. We are looking for a candidate who is driven to take ownership and responsibility. The Manager will work with a small, fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team and report to the Director of Business Operations. Salary range is $95k - $105,000 annually. 

Job Status: Full-Time

Location: Hybrid (Bethesda 20%; Remote 80%) 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development of Sources Sought, Request for Information (RFIs), and Request for Proposal or Quote (RFP/RFQ) responses.

  • Identify pursuits to target via resources like eBuy, GovTribe, and SAM.

  • Conduct opportunity analysis, developing assessments based on solicitation size, scope, and complexity, alignment to core competencies, past performances and corporate experience based on solicitation needs and program goals, development of initial Probability of Win (PWIN) and Probably of Go (PGO) analysis.

  • Ensure the company’s profile is accurate and current in relevant opportunity databases.

  • Assist with preparing the firm’s business development pipeline and presentations, and display metrics via dashboards, graphs, and charts.

  • Conduct research on known and suspected competitors, potential teammates, and subcontractors.

  • Conduct pipeline financial analysis and prepare reports for Executive leadership that address details such as total value, expected value, and schedule.

  • Facilitate business development brainstorming sessions with EMI Project Managers

  • Communicate business development efforts with the Operations Team.

  • Incorporate project management skills (project initiation, coordination, scheduling, planning, controlling, and closing) and Lean Six Sigma principles into day-to-day activities.

  • Gather data to develop well-informed and effective strategic plans.

  • Assist in document creation, editing, management, accessibility/tagging, and distribution.

Background and Qualifications:

  • Minimum Requirement: Bachelors Degree in Public Health, Business, or related field of study

  • Experience Requirement: 5 years’ experience in Business Development, GWAC Management, Program Management/Administration, and/or Capture Management.

  • Working knowledge of GSA Schedules and other GWAC vehicles’ terms and conditions

  • Working knowledge of FAR and DFARs.

  • Shows proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly with strengths in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong background in customer service, with examples of business communications, e-mail etiquette, and the ability to perform under stress.

  • Good reader and listener with a willingness to get involved from Day 1.

  • Strong attention to detail and punctuality.
