EMI Advisors, LLC is a technology and innovation consulting firm that provides advisory services across the health, human services and information technology sectors. Our team specializes in assisting our public and private clients bridge the gap between health and human services policies, technology innovation and business requirements.
The Junior Project Manager (JPM) role requires an aspiring project generalist who can adapt to a variety of roles in multiple projects. Our advisory services include both public sector and commercial clients. The JPM will work closely with project managers (PMs), subject matter experts (SMEs), and administrators to meet and exceed project requirements. This role is for a new leader who can take ownership of responsibilities and follow through on commitments.
The JPM candidate should demonstrate interest in health IT, health care / public policy, project management, business communications, and/or public and private partnership development.
Working with PMs and SMEs, the JPM will be responsible for assisting with the following:
Student workers will get experience working with owners, PMs, SMEs, and administrators. This includes a mentoring process focused on student growth, as well as customizing duties to help fit student areas of focus. This position offers a great opportunity to learn about project lifecycle management, technical writing, and to improve your business communications.
The applicant should show proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook or a similar e-mail program. While our staff utilize both Mac and PC, most of our deliverables are through Office.
We are looking for a background in customer service, with examples of business communications, e-mail etiquette, and the ability to perform under stress.
We need a good reader and listener, the willingness to get involved from Day 1, and a detail-oriented approach. We appreciate punctuality and an open mind.
The perfect candidate for the JPM role will be curious enough to seek answers independently yet confident in the ability to ask questions, anxious to learn, self-motivated and possessing the ability to work alone while also thriving in group dynamics.
EMI Advisors is a growing company, and we seek a student who can gain from this experience and grow with us. This position includes remote work, and thus the student should have a quiet and stable environment from which he or she can make and receive calls and other communications. There will be in-person meetings in the DC metro area, and thus the candidate must be local.
