BACKGROUND:

The U. S. Navy faces demanding challenges.  It’s a new era of great power competition, characterized by increased complexity, interdependence and uncertainty.  An unprecedented rate of technical change, driven by artificial intelligence, robotics, and machine learning and additive manufacturing are transforming societies, economies and military capabilities across the globe.  To keep pace, the Navy’s approach to supply chain and logistics must quickly evolve towards an urgent, laser-like focus on greater speed, agility, and efficiency in the face of a rapidly changing operating environment.

EMI’s industry-leading supply chain and technology experts are supporting the Department of the Navy (DON) leadership in developing strategies and operational plans to enable integrated distributed maritime operations (DMO) and enduring maritime superiority.

 

POSITION: Analyst, Supply Chain, and Advanced Analytics Strategy

LOCATION: Pentagon, Arlington Virginia

  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Analyst will be supporting EMI Subject Matter Experts and Senior Department of the Navy (DON) Officials in developing strategies and operational plans for next-generation DON supply chain architecture to support distributed maritime operations and maritime superiority.  Supportive responsibilities will include:

  • Help define the challenges in current Navy supply chain practice, by collecting, analyzing and visualizing data
  • Become an expert in emerging technologies such as Big Data, 3 D manufacturing, automation, machine/human communication, and others, which will be the foundation of the Navy’s future supply chain
  • Develop presentations in a variety of forms to convey to senior Navy leaders how supply chain transformation will increase DON readiness and lethality
  • Assist in documenting the findings and reaction from Navy leadership in roadmaps, briefings and data models
  • Use the feedback from leaders and experts from the extended Navy supply chain community to develop better defined and more compelling ways of telling the transformation story

SKILLS REQUIRED: 

  • Ability to digest and break down complex problems into simple pictures/frameworks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive-level presentations
  • Experience with process mapping, data visualization and business intelligence dashboards (Tableau preferred)
  • Fast learner, excellent interpersonal skills with both senior leaders, managers and line staff.

  • In-depth knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Visio

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in economics, industrial engineering or equivalent field
  • Experience Requirement: 1-2 years of career experience as an analyst (US Navy or Marine Corps experience preferred)
  • Must be a U.S citizen, fluent in English.
  • Eligible to obtain a security clearance.
