EMI Advisors Announces Two New Hires to Health IT Strategy Team

WASHINGTON, DC; Apr. 12, 2022 — EMI Advisors is delighted to welcome two new hires, Jillian Annunziata as EMI Senior Health Equity Manager and Himali Saitwal as Senior Clinical Informatics Lead.

Annunziata will serve as Program Manager of the Gravity Project, reporting to EMI Advisors’ CEO and Gravity Project Senior Advisor, Evelyn Gallego, as well as the project’s Executive Committee. In this role, she will oversee the day-to-day program management and governance committees of the Gravity Project. Annunziata brings subject matter expertise in community-level implementation of social determinants of health (SDOH) assessment and intervention programs in under-resourced communities across the state of New York. She holds a master’s degree in Public Health Policy and Management with professional licenses in project management, change management, and LEAN principles.

“As a former member of The Gravity Project Public Collaborative Calls and end-user of Gravity standards,” says Annunziata. “I am grateful for the opportunity to amplify my impact through full-time support of this revolutionary work.”

Saitwal is serving as a Terminology Subject Matter Expert across multiple data standardization projects at EMI, including the Gravity Project and projects supporting the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) and the Administration of Community Living (ACL). Saitwal will oversee the application of content development across varied projects at EMI, while working closely with different standards development organizations, including HL7® and IHE. Saitwal holds a bachelor’s in medicine from India and a master’s in Biomedical Informatics from University of Texas at Houston.

Saitwal has contributed to data standardization projects across multiple government agencies and has led agile data standardization efforts between the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). Saitwal has also participated in value set authoring for NCQA and its inclusion in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) electronic health record incentive program.

“Saitwal and Annunziata each bring a wealth of expertise and experience to our health data interoperability work,” says Gallego. “They share EMI Advisors’ passion to improve the health and well-being of all, and we are excited to have them join the team.”
