About the Role:

As a Data Scientist at EMI Advisors, you will be challenged and trusted from day one to make meaningful contributions to our projects, products, and company direction. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, software engineers, and DevOps engineers to transform machine learning models into impactful, real-world products.

Your day-to-day will include: 

  • Developing and validating machine learning models and custom analytic algorithms that are applied to time series, image, video, text, geospatial, and structured data. 

  • Implementing AI-based software solutions for cloud and edge environments. 

  • Conducting mission-critical work in support of clients and partners. 

Required Qualifications:

  • BS or BA degree in Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Math, Economics, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, or a related discipline and 2+ years of relevant experience.  

  • Strong proficiency in machine learning and data science, with hands-on experience applying these skills to image and video data. 

  • Demonstrated ability to implement and analyze data structures and algorithms. 

  • Fluency in programming languages and libraries central to machine learning, with Python expertise being essential; working knowledge of frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and/or scikit-learn is expected. 

  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle practices and tools, including version control (e.g., Git) and Agile methodologies. 

  • Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain a Secret (or above) U.S. security clearance. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret (or above) U.S. security clearance. 

  • Advanced degree (MA, PhD) in Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Math, Economics, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, or a related discipline. 

  • Experience deploying machine learning, data science, and their application to 

production environments. 

  • Exposure to DevOps and cloud infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, major cloud 

providers). 

  • Experience processing a variety of unstructured data types (e.g., imagery, full motion 

video, text, acoustic, sonar, RF, geospatial, graphs, or telemetry signals) 

  • Experience building AI agents and agentic workflows. 

  • Experience implementing ETL pipelines, data pipelines, and/or workflow automation 

  • Experience developing software in a compiled programming language (Go, Rust, C++, 

Java, etc.). 

  • Experience building full-stack applications (back end, front end, REST). 

  • Experience designing and deploying advanced data analytics and data visualization 

decision-support solutions to improve enterprise performance. 

  • Experience visualizing complex relationships using concepts from graph theory, graph 

analytics, and driver relationship analysis. 

  • Working knowledge of descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics applied to 

executive-level dashboards and reporting. 

  • Experience with business intelligence and visualization platforms such as Qlik (including 

Qlik Sense), Tableau, and Power BI. 

  • Experience working with or creating D3.js (d3) extensions for custom, interactive visualizations. 

  • Experience delivering technology solutions in secure government environments. 

  • Experience working with federal, state, and/or local government customers.
