About the Role:
EMI Advisors is seeking a Director of Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy to lead our external presence, optimize our market positioning, and drive strategic growth. This role ensures our story, expertise, and impact are clearly communicated to clients, partners, and the broader ecosystem, while guiding initiatives that position EMI at the forefront of government and health technology innovation.
The Director of GTM Strategy will position EMI Advisors as a leading voice in health IT ecosystems, social drivers of health (SDOH), and data visualization and analytics by delivering mission-aligned market strategies, storytelling, and partnerships that drive visibility, credibility, and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Market Positioning and Innovation
Develop and execute an integrated go-to-market strategic plan aligned with EMI’s mission, values, and business goals.
Lead market research, industry monitoring, and competitive analysis, to guide identification of new growth opportunities and inform strategic priorities, services differentiation, and resource investment.
Shape value propositions and positioning for EMI’s strategic, operational, and technical advisory services and solutions.
Partner with leadership to commercialize high-potential services and solutions in EMI’s innovation portfolio.
Identify and cultivate partnerships that expand the firm’s reach and enhance service and solution capabilities.
Business Development
Oversee pipeline strategy and management.
Partner with senior leadership and business development team on capture planning, pre-RFP positioning, and teaming strategies.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and delivery teams to craft compelling, differentiated proposals, ensuring compliance with prospective client requirements.
Provide strategic, industry-informed guidance on pricing, contract vehicles, and business model approaches to support sustainable growth at EMI.
Operational Collaboration and Team Leadership
Establish and maintain consistent go-to-market processes across marketing and communications, business development, and operations functions to deliver creative, high-quality work.
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for pipeline health, relevant company goals, and GTM objectives (i.e., proposal win rate, client retention).
Facilitate regular business and operations reviews to keep leadership and internal staff updated on pipeline health and the firm’s market position.
Foster a culture of innovation, authenticity, and impact that reflects EMI's values.
Champion change leadership by equipping teams to adopt agile, human-centered, and data-informed approaches to strategy and delivery.
Encourage curiosity, experimentation, and continuous learning as core components of EMI’s culture, empowering teams to test new ideas and scale proven innovations.
Brand and Thought Leadership
Elevate the firm’s visibility and credibility in digital health, data analytics and visualization, and government innovation through thought leadership, strategic communications, creative storytelling, and industry engagement.
Represent the firm at conferences, forums, and client events to expand EMI’s reputation and relationships.
Oversee and contribute to the creation of marketing and communications collateral (i.e., blogs, case studies, white papers, webinars/speaking engagements).
Manage execution of thought leadership initiatives to support EMI’s GTM strategy ensuring key messages, target audiences, and distribution channels are aligned to business growth goals.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in marketing, public policy, business, communications, or related field.
10+ years of experience in marketing, strategy, or communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute integrated strategies in the public health, government, or technology sectors.
Strong writing, communication, and storytelling skills with an ability to translate complex topics into clear and compelling narratives.
Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and deliver measurable results.
Experience building brand presence and thought leadership in professional services, consulting, or B2G environments .

Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings, conferences, and speaking engagements (as needed).
