College Park, MD; Thursday, October 29, 2026 — The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has certified EMI Advisors LLC (EMI) as a Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) small business, effective October 26, 2026. EMI also holds SBA certification as a Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB). Both certifications make it easier for federal agencies to contract with EMI.
EMI can compete for HUBZone set-asides. When FAR conditions are met, agencies can also make sole-source awards to EMI of up to $5.5 million. Awards to EMI count toward the federal government’s 3% HUBZone goal and its 5% women-owned small business goal. Prime contractors can count subcontracts with EMI toward their HUBZone subcontracting goals.
