Senior Analyst, Health IT
Sara Behal is an analyst supporting projects relating to health information technology in both the private and government sector. She specializes in analytical support, management, and terminologist support of projects with a strong ability to work across diverse stakeholder groups with an application of her public health and biology background. Sara has an interest in informatics and leveraging data standards to improve interoperable data documentation and exchange to improve health outcomes. Sara is certified as a Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine - Clinical Terms (SNOMED-CT) Level 1 Author.
Prior to joining EMI Sara served as a research assistant, bridging the public health and microbiology fields, in the Center of Excellence at the Nexus of Sustainable Water Reuse, Food, and Health (CONSERVE) project for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). She has also participated in global health practices, through her internship with the Health Emergencies Department of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
Sara holds a BS in Public Health and BS in Microbiology from the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland. Sara’s hobbies include baking, pottery, and traveling.
