Vinuka Aponso, MS

Data Scientist

Vinuka Aponso is a Data Scientist at EMI Advisors, where he supports data analytics, predictive modeling, and data-driven solution development. He has experience building machine learning models, ETL pipelines, interactive dashboards, and cloud-based analytics solutions using Python, R, SQL, Power BI, and Microsoft Azure.

His previous experience includes an internship at LexisNexis Risk Solutions, where he worked on Monte Carlo feature selection algorithms to support future model development for the company's auto underwriting group. Vinuka also completed a co-op with Halliburton's Advanced Perforation Team, where he worked on ETL pipelines, predictive analytics, and customized dashboards. Additionally, he served as an undergraduate research assistant at Emory University School of Medicine, where he focused on testing novel drug candidates for the treatment of fibrotic diseases. He is currently interested in expanding his knowledge of deep learning and computer vision models.

Vinuka holds a Master of Science in Analytics from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Studies from Emory University.
